Jihne Mera Dil Luteya Punjabi Movie Review

Its incredible how the quality of music is increasing in Punjabi movies. The advent of music composers like Honey Singh, Aman Hayer and Ghinda Aujla into Punjabi films is a huge step forward for Punjabi Film Industry. While on one hand the films get packed with great music, the competition to provide great music also hails positive results. The music of Jihne Mera Dil Lutya is really good when you look at it from the perspective of a Film’s music.

The opening track Fukre is good on beats but what makes it click are the lyrics. Its one of those songs that touches upon the wild side of Punjabies in a humorous way and the way Diljit has sung it while modulating his voice, it really makes for a great listening.

This sole track has enough power to carry the music of the film forward. Lately Gippy Grewal has been rectifying his image by singing some very nice and meaningful songs and this is another step in that direction. Lyrics of this song are crazy awesome.. and nothing less is expected of Raj Kakra

Next track is again about the Wild side of Punjabies. Munde Jatan De has mild lyrics but is good on beats and has already become very popular in audiences. Supna does for Diljit, what Channa does for Gippy. Honey Singh’s music is distinctive in the song and the ballad feel of the song makes it unique. In many ways its one of the first of its type in Punjabi music.

Jhanjar is based on folk rhythm and despite great performance and music, the song doesn’t make much impact. The album’s middle order collapses on quaity as the next song Jithe Ho Jiye Khade is also a mild track which will be easily forgotten. Billi Billi Akh is better than the previous two tracks, but lacks the fervor of being considered a great song. It has real cumbersome beat.

The album also has partial stanzas from the songs Jithe Ho Jiye Khade in the last climbing order. The last track on the album is Dil Sada Lutya Gaya as sung by Bhinda Aujla and most probably will be used in the credits. Its a beautiful songs and as oposed to the idea, its actually a slow number with moody beats. All in all a great album, especialy the opening tracks are awesome.
